“My first time in London.”
งงล่ะสิ ..ครั้งแรก .. ลอนดอนเนี่ยะนะ ถูกต้องแล้ว หนิงไม่เคยไปอังกฤษเลยค่ะ เห็นฟุตฟิตฟอไฟขนาดนี้ .. คงเพราะหนิงเกิดอเมริกา ถ้าต้องเลือกเที่ยวก็ขอเลือกกลับบ้านเกิด แต่ก็แปลก ฝรั่งเศส อิตาลี สวิส เบลเยี่ยม เยอรมัน โมนาโค และอีกมากมายในยุโรปไปมาหมดแล้ว ยกเว้น อังกฤษ .. พอจะได้ไป มันช่างตื่นเต้นจริงๆ
You might not believe it, but yes this is my first trip to London, so you can imagine how excited I would be. I have travelled to many countries in Europe such as France, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Monaco etc. but I have never had the chance to visit London.
เนื่องจากหนิงจะเขียนเรื่องเที่ยวในลอนดอนเป็น 2 ตอน ตอนแรกหนิงจะเขียนถึงการเตรียมตัว การเดินทางภายในลอนดอน และเรื่องอาหารการกินก่อน ส่วนเรื่องเที่ยว จะไปรวมไว้ตอนต่อไปค่ะ แน่นอนก่อนไป เราก็ต้องขอวีซ่าเข้าประเทศเขาก่อน หนิงคิดว่าตัวเองฉลาด ไม่น่ายาก เห็นเขาบอกกรอกสมัครทางอินเตอร์เน็ตได้ ลุยเองเลยจ้า ..สรุป.. ถ้าย้อนเวลากลับไปได้ จะจ้างเอเย่นต์ทำ ..เฮ้อ อย่าให้สาธยายเลยว่ามันปวดหัววุ่นวายขนาดไหน 3 วันก็เขียนไม่จบ เอาเป็นว่าอยากไปอังกฤษ เตรียมเงินไว้ให้พร้อม เพราะแค่ค่าดำเนินงานทำวีซ่า ค่าวีซ่า ค่าเอเย่นต์ อยากได้เร็วๆมีค่า Fast Track อีก เท่านี้ก็ใช้เงินเยอะมากแล้ว แถมค่าครองชีพค่อนข้างสูง ทำใจไว้เลยนะคะสำหรับใครกล้า บ้าบิ่น อยากพิสูจน์ความเก่ง เชิญสมัครวีซ่าได้เอง เว็บนี้เลยค่ะรักและหวังดี http://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/thailand/ ลองกรอกเล่นๆ อย่าเผลอไปจ่ายตังค์ใดๆ ถ้าไม่ไหว ไปหาเอเย่นต์เถอะนะ
I will break down my trip to London into two parts. This part will be dedicated to the preparation stage, travelling and dining in London. The first thing that must be done is the application for visa. Low and behold, it was a very painstaking process, which took ages and might actually take me at least 3 days to recount the story. Basically, prepare lots of cash. Obviously you will need it for the visa, the agent, fast track etc. That’s a lot of expenses on its own not to mention the high cost of living in London.
For those who want to give it a try and apply online you can just log on to http://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/thailand/. But I would advise you to hire an agent to speed up the process as it would make your life much easier.
หลังจากวีซ่าผ่านแล้ว ก็ถึงเวลาศึกษาประเทศของเขา จะอยู่จะกินยังไง จะพักที่ไหน จะเที่ยวอะไรบ้าง เดินทางไปตามที่ต่างๆอย่างไร .. ด้วยความที่เป็นคนต้องศึกษาวางแผนก่อนเสมอ หนิงไปซื้อคู่มือท่องเที่ยวมา 2 เล่ม ไทย 1 เล่ม “เซียนลอนดอน” โดย จูน ศศิวิมล เขียนใช้ได้ทีเดียว ของฝรั่ง 1 เล่ม “Pocket London“ ของ lonely planet ขอบอกเลยว่า การอ่านล่วงหน้าจะช่วยชีวิตในการวางแผนได้เยอะมากจริงๆค่ะ
Once I’ve gotten my visa, it was time to do some prior research before traveling. I bought two guide books one in Thai called Sian London written by June Sasiwimol and another English one called “Pocket London” by lonely planet.
เมื่อเริ่มศึกษาอ่านข้อมูล แถมถามเพื่อนรัก คุณจุ๊ นาขวัญ ที่เติบโตในลอนดอน เธอบอกว่า พักแถบ Kensington นั่นแหละดีที่สุด ไปไหนก็สะดวก เพราะไม่ว่าจะไปไหน ยังไงก็ต้องนั่ง tube (รถไฟใต้ดิน) อยู่ดีฉะนั้น หนิงเลยเลือกที่พักย่านนี้ก่อน หนิงชอบจองทาง booking.com เพราะไม่จำเป็นต้องจ่ายเลย ยกเลิกได้แต่มีเงื่อนไขกำหนด หรือถ้าจ่ายเลยก็มีส่วนลดให้อีก หลังจากดูราคา, ดูว่าใกล้พิพิธภัณฑ์ที่สำคัญเยอะมาก, ดูความสะดวกว่าใกล้สถานี tube แค่ไหนหนิงเลยตัดสินใจพักโรงแรม Millennium ถนน Gloucester ค่ะ ..ทำการจองล่วงหน้าและพิมพ์ใบจองออกมาไว้เป็นหลักฐานค่ะ
After a bit of research, I was suggested by my best friend Ju Nakwan ,who grew up in London, to stay around Kensington area as it is very convenient in terms of commuting. I normally do my booking via www.booking.com. There’s no need to pay in advance and if you do, discounts will be offered. You can also cancel your booking last minute. Based on price and location I made my booking and I have decided to stay at Millennium Hotel at Gloucester which is not far from many museums and very close to the underground station.
หลังจากอ่านคู่มือท่องเที่ยว .. พบว่า ผู้คนในลอนดอนนิยมเที่ยวพิพิธภัณฑ์และพระราชวังต่างๆค่ะ เห็นได้จากแผนที่ มีอยู่ทุกที่จริงๆ บางแห่งคิดสตางค์ บางแห่งฟรี ฉะนั้นถ้าคิดจะไปเที่ยวหลายที่ หนิงแนะนำให้ซื้อตั๋วอย่าง London pass ที่สามารถเข้าหลายที่ในราคาพิเศษซึ่งซื้อได้ทางเน็ต รับประกันว่ายังไงก็ถูกกว่าไปเข้าแถว ดีไม่ดี ได้เข้าแถว fast track ไม่ต้องรอคิวนานอีกด้วย ใครไป Kensington Palace,Tower of London หรือนั่งเรือล่องแม่น้ำเทมส์ชมเมือง แนะว่าซื้อไว้เลยค่ะ
After reading the guide book, I came to realize that visitors to London love to tour museums and palaces which is very prevalent. You can find one almost everywhere. I suggest you purchase a London pass online. Not only is it much cheaper but also very practical especially if you’re thinking of visiting Kensington Palace, Tower of London and taking a boat ride on the Thames River. You might even be able to use the ticket for fast tracking as well.
ตัวหนิงไม่แน่ใจว่าจะไปได้มากขนาดไหน เลยตั้งใจไปซื้อที่ลอนดอน แต่ที่แน่ใจว่าไปคือ London Eye หนิงเลยดูทางเว็บว่าซื้อได้หรือไม่ ปรากฎว่าได้แถมช่วงเวลาที่ไปเป็นช่วงเทศกาลอีสเตอร์ เด็กๆหยุดเรียน ก็เลยมีกิจกรรมพิเศษเพื่อเด็กที่เที่ยว London eye โดยเฉพาะ นั่นหมายความว่า ผู้ที่ซื้อกิจกรรมนี้จะได้นั่งแคปซูลแบบส่วนตัว ไม่รวมกับคนที่เข้าแถวซื้อปกติ (นอกจากนี้ยังมีส่วนตัวแบบจิบแชมเปญชมวิวกันสองเรา, แพคเก็จทานช็อคโกแลตบนแคปซูล และ ไวน์เทสติ้ง เป็นต้น) หนิงซื้อเลยเพราะถูกกว่า แล้วก็พิมพ์ใบจองเตรียมไปให้เรียบร้อยจะได้ไม่ต้องเข้าแถวยาว
London eye is on the top of my list for places to visit therefore, I pre-booked the tickets online which is of course way cheaper. And since it coincided with Easter vacation, they had a special package that included a ride in your own personal capsule whilst you sip champagne and enjoy the fabulous view. They also had a chocolate package and wine tasting package as well.
เราเดินทางจากบรูไน ด้วยสายการบิน Royal Brunei Airlines เครื่องโบอิ้ง Dreamliner ไฟลต์เต็มนะคะ แสดงว่าช่วงนี้คนเดินทางเยอะอยู่ ไปถึงตั้งแต่ 6โมงเช้า ลงเครื่องปุ๊บ รีบแจกเสื้อหนาวให้ลูกและสามีค่ะ เพราะหนิงรู้ว่าอากาศค่อนข้างเย็น ช่วงนี้ 10 องศากว่า (ถ้าเช้ามืดกะกลางคืน จะเย็นกว่านี้ ) ก็เตรียมเสื้อหนาวไว้ในกระเป๋าแฮนด์แครี่ค่ะ รอรับกระเป๋า ผ่านด่านตรวจเข้าเมืองใช้เวลานิด เนื่องจากเจ้าหน้าที่ค่อนข้างเคร่งมากเวลามีเด็กเดินทางมาด้วย ดูหน้าหนิง ดูหน้าลูกซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่าเพราะเขากลัวการลักพาตัว ต่อจากนั้นก็ซื้อตั๋ว Heathrow Express รถไฟสายด่านเข้าเมือง (มีขายที่สนามบิน หาไม่ยาก)
The flight that we took from Brunei on the Dreamliner by Royal Brunei Airlines was full. We arrived at 6 am and immediately we cozied up in our jackets as it was chilly, approximately 10 degrees celsius. It took us quite a bit of time to get through immigrations. They were rather strict when travelling with kids. We then purchased tickets for Heathrow express.
แต่!อยากฝากถึงคนที่กำลังไปว่า จริงๆแล้ว อาจไม่จำเป็นต้องซื้อเนื่องจาก Tube บางสถานีมาตรงถึงสนามบินได้เลย ในเมื่อระหว่างที่อยู่เที่ยว เราจะต้องเดินทางด้วย tube อยู่แล้ว แนะให้ซื้อ Oyster Card บัตรเติมเงินใช้ได้กับยานพาหนะทุกประเภท และประหยัดกว่าเยอะค่ะ
It is not necessary for everyone to take Heathrow express as some tube stations stop directly at Heathrow Airport. I recommend that you buy an Oyster card which can be used for all kinds of transportation.
ส่วนใครกังวลใจเรื่องการซื้อตั๋ว oyster ก็ ตั๋ว tube ต่อเที่ยว หรือ รายวัน ไม่ต้องห่วงนะ เพราะเขามีบู้ทสำหรับสอบถาม แถวไม่ยาว ที่รู้เพราะ คุณสามีซื้อตั๋วจากเครื่อง จ่ายไป 3 ใบ พอจะใช้จริงๆ เจ้าหน้าที่รีบเดินมาบอกว่า เด็กไม่คิด ให้ไปเข้าแถวคืนเงินซะ ดังนั้นเพื่อความถูกต้องสอบถามก่อนเดินทางจะดีที่สุด
Just in case you’re wondering what kind of ticket you should be buying just ask the staff at the ticket booth. They can recommend the best ticket type for you. Kids travel for free.
เรานั่งรถไฟตรงถึง สถานีถนน Gloucester (อ่านว่าโกลส-เตอร์) ใช้เวลาประมาณ 30 นาที โล่งเชียวค่ะ เพราะเราไปถึงวันเสาร์เช้าตรู่ ผู้คนยังไม่ตื่นดี พอเดินออกจากสถานี พร้อมกระเป๋าใบโตถึง 3 ใบ (ขอเตือนว่าบางสถานีไม่มีลิฟต์ ก็เหนื่อยแบกหน่อย) กำลังก้าวออกสถานีนี้และพึมพำกันว่า โรงแรมเราต้องเดินไปทางไหนน้า… สายตาก็เจอป้ายเลยฮ่ะ !!! กรี๊ด คิดไม่ผิดเลือกโรงแรมนี้ เดิน 20 กว่าก้าวก็ถึง แต่เนื่องจากเช้าไป ยังเช็คอินไม่ได้ ก็ฝากกระเป๋า แล้วตัวปลิวไปเที่ยวต่อแบบไม่ให้เสียเวลา พอช่วงบ่ายๆ ถึงค่อยกลับมาเช็คอินอีกรอบ
We got off at Gloucester Road Station with three huge suitcases that we had to carry up quite a few flights of stairs as some stations don’t have elevators. The good thing is that our Hotel is just within a few steps away. But because it was too early to check in , we left our luggages at the hotel and came back later that afternoon.
ก่อนเลือกโรงแรมแห่งนี้ มีคนแนะนำหลายที่ แต่หนิงเข้าไปสำรวจดูรูป ดูพื้นที่ห้องแล้ว ขอเลือกใหญ่ขึ้นมานิด เพราะเรา 3 คนนอนด้วยกัน เคยเข็ดกับที่พักในประเทศญี่ปุ่น อะไรมันจะเล็กขนาดนั้น !! ท้ายสุดก็มาลงตัวโรงแรม Millennium ถนน Gloucester ค่ะ หนิงเลือกเอาแต่ห้องพัก ไม่เอาอาหารเช้า เพราะเราชอบไปสำรวจร้านอาหารตามที่ต่างๆ แม้ไม่ใช่นักทานซักเท่าไหร่ แต่ก็ขอเลือกทานอาหารเช้าแบบง่ายๆ ข้างถนน กินบรรยากาศไปด้วยดีกว่า
Before choosing this hotel, I was recommended many different ones. But I’ve decided on Millennium Hotel on Gloucester Road. I chose it because the room was spacious enough to accommodate the 3 of us. I booked the room with out breakfast because I would love to explore the cafes and restaurants rather than eat at the hotel.
โรงแรมที่จองมา ไม่ผิดหวัง ไม่เล็กจนเกินไปค่ะ มีมุมเก้าอี้รับแขกเล็กๆ มีตู้เสื้อผ้าขนาดพอดี มีตู้เซฟ มีบริการ wifi แต่ต้องเสียตังค่ะ ล็อบบี้ก็สวยงาม ค่อนข้างคึกคักอย่างที่บอกใกล้สถานี Tube คนจึงมาพักกันเยอะ อย่างว่าเน้นเที่ยวเป็นหลัก ดังนั้นการพักที่นี่เหมือนแค่มีไว้ซุกหัวนอน กับเก็บของช็อป ส่วนคุณสามียังขยันหน่อย ใช้เงินที่จ่ายค่าโรงแรมคุ้ม ไปออกกำลังกายฟิตเนสแต่เช้าทุกวัน
I was more than satisfied with the hotel room. It wasn’t too small and it had a little corner with a sofa, a roomy closet, a safe and internet wifi service. The lobby was also quite nice and bustling as it is very near the tube station. My husband also made good use of the fitness center.

In every street corner you can find cafes and restaurants. My daughter loves her bagel and cream cheese so basically we just chose the restaurant that serves it. Bella never seems to get bored! She can eat it every day.
ส่วนหนิงกับพี่โบ็ต ติดใจร้านที่ชื่อว่า Eat ค่ะ อาหารเพื่อสุขภาพมากๆ ก็มีแซนวิช ขนมปังบาแกต มีสลัด แต่ที่ชอบเพราะมีโยเกิร์ต มูสลี่ ผลไม้ น้ำผลไม้คั้นสดๆ รวมทั้งถ้าเริ่มเบื่ออาหารฝรั่ง เขาก็อุตส่าห์ทำเมนูซุปเกี้ยวมีเส้น มีทั้งเผ็ด และไม่เผ็ด (แต่เผ็ดของเขา คือไม่เผ็ดของเราค่ะ)
My husband and I especially love this restaurant for the health conscious called Eat. They serve sandwiches, baguettes, salads, yoghurts, muesli, fruits and freshly squeezed juices. And if you want Asian food, they can also make you noodles with dumplings, both spicy and non spicy.
นอกจากนี้ เราก็ไม่พลาดเมนู English Breakfast ซึ่งต่างจาก American Breakfast ยังไง? มาดูกันใครที่คุ้นเคยอาหารเช้าแบบอเมริกันก็จะต้องมี ขนมปัง แพนเค้ก วาฟเฟิล ไข่ เบค่อนแบบบาง ชา กาแฟ น้ำส้ม แต่สำหรับอาหารเช้าแบบอิงลิช สิ่งที่ต่างชัดเจนคือ เบค่อนจะเป็นชิ้นหนาเตอะ นุ่ม ไม่ได้ทอดกรอบแบบที่คนไทยนิยมทาน นอกจากนี้ยังมีไส้กรอก ขนมปัง และ ถั่วอบในซอสมะเขือเทศ (ของโปรดของหนิงเลยค่ะ) ชา กาแฟ น้ำส้ม เป็นต้น ส่วนอาหารกลางวันที่นิยมที่สุดของคนอังกฤษคือ ฟิช แอนด์ ชิป ..ปลาชุบแป้งทอดกับเฟร้นฟรายส์นั่นแหละค่ะ
Not to be missed is the English Breakfast. So how is it different from American Breakfast? American breakfast normally consists of the usual bread, pancakes, waffles, eggs crispy and thin bacon, tea, coffee and orange juice. As for English breakfast you can expect much thicker pieces of bacon, soft and not as crispy. My most favorite would be baked beans in tomato sauce. Their most famous lunch is of course fish and chips (fish deep fried in batter and French fries).
โดยปกติทานเสร็จ พอจะคิดเงิน คนไทยห่วงสุดคือ ควรให้ทิปเท่าไหร่ โชคดีว่าหนิงนัดเจอเพื่อคนไทยที่นู่น ก็เลยถามซะเลย เขาบอกว่าเรื่องทิปที่อังกฤษ ไม่ซีเรียสเท่าอเมริกา ให้ก็ได้ ไม่ให้ก็ไม่มีใครว่า แต่ถ้าจะให้ ส่วนใหญ่ก็อยู่ที่ 8-10% ของราคาอาหาร ของหนิงก็เลือกให้เอาค่ะ ร้านไหนแทบจะต้องบริการตัวเองทั้งหมด หรือ มี service charge แล้วก็ไม่ให้ ร้านไหนบริการดีก็ให้เป็นสินน้ำใจค่ะ พูดถึงเรื่องอาหารการกิน หนิงขอบอกเลยว่า .. ค่าครองชีพที่นี่สูงมาก จ่ายค่าข้าวแต่ละที คิดถึงเมืองไทยที่สุด ฉะนั้นอย่าแปลกใจ เวลาเห็นคนที่นี่ มักไปปิคนิคในสวนในช่วงวันหยุด เพราะการเตรียมอาหารไปทานเอง ประหยัดกว่าเยอะมากค่ะ
I was a bit worried about how much I should tip but luckily I asked my friend who lives there and she said it’s about 8-10%. But it’s not necessary to tip here. It’s really up to you so I basically tipped when the service was excellent and didn’t tip when service charge was already included or when I practically had to service myself. Like I said before, the cost of living here is extremely high so every time I had a meal and I can’t stop but to compare the price to a meal in Thailand and how much more cheaper it is back home. So it is not uncommon for you to see people picnicking in parks during the weekends because it can save you a lot if you prepare your own food.
ไปครั้งนี้ แม้จะไม่ได้เน้นเรื่องกิน แต่ก็ได้มีโอกาสไปลิ้มลองอาหารเจ้าอร่อยอยู่บ้าง ที่ฮิตติดกระแสในช่วงนี้ คงหนีไม่พ้นร้าน Burger&Lobster ค่ะ มีหลายสาขาอยู่นะคะ เราติดใจกันมากถึงกับทานสองมื้อด้วยกัน ครั้งแรกสาขาย่านโซโห คิวยาวมาก แต่เชื่อไหมรอไม่ถึง 2 นาที เพราะพนักงานถามว่าจะนั่งรอที่ร้านเลยไหม อารมณ์เมื่อยเท้ามากเลยบอกว่านั่งรอ ในขณะบางคนลงชื่อแล้วเลือกไปเดินเล่น เดาว่าเขาเลยให้ด้วยเหตุนี้ ..ที่ชอบมากเลยคือ เมนูอาหารมีแค่ 3 อย่าง ไม่ต้องคิดมาก ไม่ต้องเสียเวลา เลือกเอา จะทานล็อบสเตอร์นึ่งหรือย่าง ล็อบสเตอร์บัน หรือ เบอร์เกอร์เนื้อ ..หนิงกับพี่โบ๊ตเลือกคนละอย่างจะได้แบ่งกันทาน มันอร่อยจริงๆค่ะ อิ่มกำลังดีไม่มาก ไม่น้อยไป แกะลอบสเตอร์สนุกสนาน ไม่ต้องห่วงเปื้อนเพราะมีพลาสติดกันเปื้อนแบบผูกคอให้ ส่วนเมนูของหวาน ก็มีราสเบอรรี่ชีสเค็ก .. โอโห้มันสุดยอดจริงๆ ขนาดเบลล่าทานไม่ค่อยเก่ง ยังขออีกๆ ส่วนอีกสาขาที่เราไปอยู่ในห้าง Harvey Nichols ค่ะ ชั้นบนสุด แทบไม่มีคิว แถมทั้งร้านมีแต่คนไทย แสดงว่ามันดังในหมู่คนไทยจริงๆ ฉะนั้นใครได้ไปลอนดอน อย่าพลาด
Although we didn’t focus too much on fine dining on this trip, we had a chance to dine at a few hip and happening places such as Burger and Lobster. We loved it so much we went there twice! We went to soho branch the first time. Although the queue was very long, we were asked to be seated at the restaurant after only 2 minutes of waiting. I guess others decided to leave their names and go shopping whilst we decided to sit and wait because we were tired. The menu advertises just 3 items; lobster, lobster bun and lobster burger. It was utterly mouth wateringly juicy and amazingly tasty. We had lots of fun divulging our lobster and washing it down with the most delicious raspberry cheesecake. We also went to the one situated on the top floor of Harvey Nichols. There was hardly any queue and the place was packed with many Thai tourists. It’s definitely a must try for curious foodies.
ทริปนี้หนิงได้เจอ เอ๋ เพื่อนเก่าแก่ตั้งแต่เด็กๆ ที่มาตั้งรกรากอยู่ลอนดอน เอ๋พาหนิงไปทานร้านอาหารชื่อว่า Big Easy แถบ King’s Road เอ๋ เล่าว่า แต่ก่อนร้านนี้ดังมาก จนกระทั่ง burger&lobster มาตีกระจุย เมนูคล้ายคลึงกัน แต่วันที่หนิงไปทาน ก็เห็นคนเต็มเช่นกัน สิ่งที่แตกต่างคือ ร้านนี้พอเห็นเด็กปุ๊บ เอากระดาษแผ่นใหญ่ปูโต๊ะ วางสีเทียน ให้เด็กวาดเล่นได้ตามสบาย (และสังเกตุว่าร้านอาหาร เกือบทุกร้านจะมีกิจกรรมให้เด็กๆ ทำ ระหว่างรออาหารเช่น สีกับกระดาษ,สมุดกิจกรรม เป็นต้น) นอกจากนี้เมนูหลากหลายกว่า มีทั้งล็อบสเตอร์ ซี่โครงหมู สเต็ก รวมถึงเมนูอาหารแบบเซ็ทในราคาย่อมเยาว์ สนใจแวะไปลองกันได้
I had to chance to meet up with my childhood friend Ae who has moved to London. She took me to a restaurant much like burger and lobster called Big Easy in King’s Road. This place was once legendary for its lobster. Immediately when they saw Bella, they brought over drawing crayons and paper to doodle on. The menu offers a diversified choice of lobster, steak, spareribs etc. at a reasonable price.
หลังทานเสร็จ เอ๋ ซึ่งมีลูกเล็กเท่าเบลล่านึกสนุก พาเราขึ้นรถเมล์ 2 ชั้นกันค่ะ แอบตกใจราคานิดนึง ราคาต่อคน (ซื้อต่อครั้ง) อยู่ประมาณ 4 ปอนด์กว่า ลองคูณ 55.8 ดูนะ เป็นไง .. ของพี่ไทยสบายใจกระเป๋ากว่าเยอะ แต่อย่างว่าถนนหนทางเขาน่ารัก ถนนเล็กๆ มีซอยเล็กซอยน้อย ก็ไม่ต้องทนรถติดแบบเมืองไทย แถมอากาศก็ดีกว่า .. เอ่อ ส่วนที่เหมือน ..คนขับซิ่งไม่แพ้พี่ไทย หนิงขึ้นไปนั่งชั้น2กับลูก คิดแล้วว่า ครั้งเดียวพอมันคลื่นไส้ ขอกลับไปนั่ง tube แบบเดิมดีกว่า
My friends thought it would be fun to take the kids for a ride on the double decker bus. The bus tickets costs a whopping 4 quid each!!! Try doing the conversion to Thai baht (times 55.8). We took a ride along the small dainty streets of London which was quite pretty given the weather is much nicer than Thailand. But the bus driver reminded me of the ones in Thailand. I would call them the rat of the road. We got dizzy sitting on the 2nd floor so that was just a one-time experience for me. We’re definitely taking the tube next time!
มีวันนึง หนิงอยากไปสถานี Notting Hill ไม่ได้จะไปตามหารักแบบในหนังหรอกนะคะ แต่บังเอิญ ตลาดนัด Portobello อยู่สถานีนี้ค่ะ เราไปสายๆ กะว่าจะไปหาอาหารเช้าทานที่นั่น พอขึ้นสถานีปุ๊บ ก็เจอร้านของเชฟดัง Jamie Oliver เลยค่ะ ชื่อว่า Recipease เป็นร้านที่ตกแต่งได้น่ารักมาก ชั้นหนึ่งเป็นอาหารสำหรับซื้อกลับ มีทุกอย่าง ขนมปัง เส้น เครื่องปรุง แยมตำราอาหาร แล้วก็มีแพนทรีทำอาหารและขนมโดยเชฟ เราสามารถไปยืนดูกันได้เลย
We wanted to go to Portobello market which was at Notting hill Station. Right next to the station is Jamie Oliver’s restaurant called Recipease. This wonderful joint offers a wholesome menu , kitchen gadgets and even cooking classes. There’s a pantry where you can watch the sous chefs cook and make dessert.
ส่วนชั้น 2 สำหรับคนที่นั่งทานในร้านค่ะ มีแบ่งเป็นส่วนนั่ง และส่วนเรียนทำอาหาร ตอนหนิงไป ยังไม่เห็นใครมาเรียน แต่พอทานเสร็จจะกลับ .. พ่อแม่พาลูกๆวัยเบลล่ามาเรียนทำอาหาร เรียนทำขนมกันเต็มเลย หนิงกับเบลล่าก็ไปยืนดู เก่งกันมาก ลีลาเหมือนผู้ใหญ่ ยังบอกกับลูกว่ากลับมาคราวหน้า แม่จะให้มาเรียนค่ะ
Right when we were about to leave, a family came in for a cooking class on the second floor. The kids were actually quite good and looked very professional. I told Bella that the next time we come back we will take a class together.
เราก็ทานอาหารเช้าแบบง่ายๆ เพราะวันนั้นเบลล่า ครึ้มอกครึ้มใจอยากทาน English Breakfast ก็ทานกับหนิง ส่วนพี่โบ๊ตทาน เบอร์เกอร์อโวคาโดรสจัดจ้าน น่าทานเชียวค่ะ อยู่ที่นี่ ก็แอบติดดื่มกาแฟเหมือนกันนะ เพราะอากาศเย็นๆ จิบกาแฟอุ่นๆหอมๆ มันก็แสนชื่นใจค่ะ เป็นอีก 1ร้านที่อยากให้แวะมาดู แค่ถ่ายภาพสวยๆก็คุ้มแล้ว แวะทานเอาบรรยากาศยิ่งดี แถมชื่อเสียงเชฟการันตี อร่อยทุกเมนู
Bella and I had English breakfast whilst my husband enjoyed his spicy avocado burger. I have had a quite an addiction to drinking coffee since I got here. Sipping a finely brewed cup of coffee in this nice weather is just simply divine. I would definitely recommend this place for its tasty menu (guaranteed by the famous chef), the great ambiance and the fabulous décor.
เตะชะบุญ ณ วันที่เราสามคนกำลังเริ่มเลี่ยนกับอาหารฝรั่ง พี่เป๊ป ณพสิทธิ์ เที่ยงธรรม ซึ่งอยู่ลอนดอนพอดี โทรมาชวนไปทานอาหารจีนค่ะ .. ไม่มีปฏิเสธ ( เพราะรู้ว่าพี่ชายคนนี้ต้องเลี้ยง ฮา!) พี่เป๊ป พาไปทานที่ร้าน Royal China ตรงสถานี Bayswater หาไม่ยากค่ะ
My friend Pep Nopasit Thiengtam invited us for Chinese at the famous Royal China restaurant in Bayswater which is very easy to find. I immediately said yes of course, as I knew he would treat us!
แค่เดินเข้าร้านก็ดีใจแทบเนื้อเต้น คิดถึงซอสพริกเผ็ดๆ กับข้าวสวยใจจะขาด งานนี้หนิงไม่สั่ง เพราะรู้ว่าพี่เป๊ปจัดเต็ม เราสามคนมีหน้าที่ทานอย่างเดียว เราเน้นทานเป็ด ติ่มซำ ข้าวผัด สำหรับที่นี่เป็นร้านอาหารจีนชื่อดังในลอนดอน คนไทยมาทานเยอะมาก และเพราะความอร่อยนี่แหละ เขาไม่รับจอง ฉะนั้นใครสนใจไปทาน ต้องไปรอหน้าร้านอย่างเดียว เชื่อเหอะ อร่อยคุ้มจริงๆ
I was just dying for some spicy chilli sauce and a bowl of rice. I had Pep do all the ordering. I am here to just enjoy the sumptuous meal which comprised of duck, dimsum and fried rice. Royal China is one of the Thai’s favorite Chinese restaurants. Unfortunately no reservations can be made. The place is packed with a long line waiting but it is definitely worth the wait.
เสียดายว่า เวลาเที่ยวมีน้อย มีอะไรอีกหลายอย่างที่อยากลองในลอนดอน แต่ไม่มีโอกาส เช่น การนั่งรถแท็กซี่ที่เรียกว่า Black Cab คันเล็กๆอวบๆน่ารัก ดูโบราณผสมความโมเดิร์น เพราะบางคันมีโฆษณาแบรนด์ต่าง ๆ แต่ถึงไม่ได้นั่ง ก็ถ่ายภาพมาให้ชมกัน
Unfortunately we didn’t have time to ride in a Black Cab, a vintage style cab with a modern edge. Some of the cabs were wrapped with advertisements. I was able to take some pictures for you though.
อีกอย่างที่ไม่ได้ลอง คือจิบน้ำชายามบ่าย .. พยายามแล้วนะ แต่ปัญหาคือ จุกข้าวเที่ยงอิ่มแปล้ ไปถึงเย็น อย่างที่บอก บ้านหนิงไม่ค่อยช่างทาน ประกอบกับตัวหนิงและพี่โบ๊ตไม่นิยมดื่มชา ก็เลยได้แต่มองคนอื่นเขาจิบกัน .. ขนาดมองหน้ากันแล้ว ..ยังไงดี ..กินไม่หมดก็ได้อ่ะ สรุป ก็ไม่ไหวจริงๆ แต่ก็พอทำการบ้านว่าที่ที่ควรไปจิบ อิงลิช ที นั้นก็มี เช่น แนวหรูหราก็ต้องโรงแรม The Ritz ย่าน Piccadilly, โรงแรม The Pelham Hotel ย่าน South Kensington, โรงแรม Sanderson Hotel แถวถนน Oxford หรือที่นี่เจอแน่นอน ถ้าแวะช็อป ก็แวะจิบชาเลย The Tea Room ที่ห้าง Harrods ถนน Brompton ค่ะ ใครชอบดื่มชา อย่าพลาด
We also missed out on English High Tea. We were almost always full and besides we haven’t really been keen on drinking tea. There are several places where you can go for High Tea for example The Ritz in Piccadilly, The Pelham Hotel in south Kensington, Sanderson Hotel in Oxford and The Tea Room at Harrods in Brompton.

เชื่อไหมคะว่า วันสองวันแรกในลอนดอน แอบเหนื่อย เพราะยังไม่คุ้น เดินไปดูแผนที่ไป พอเข้าวันที่ 3 ทุกอย่างเริ่มลงตัว ดูแผนที่เข้าใจง่ายขึ้น การเดินทางด้วย Tube ก็ไม่ยากอย่างที่คิด แถมทางเดินแต่ละที่มีแผนที่ขนาดใหญ่ ตามจุดต่างๆให้เราดู แทบไม่ต้องกลัวหลงเลยค่ะ .. หนิงและครอบครัวสนุกกันมาก .. มากจนสามารถเก็บเกี่ยวที่เที่ยวได้เยอะมาก และขอรวบรวมเป็น 10 สถานที่เที่ยวในกรุงลอนดอนไว้ในตอนหน้า ซึ่งจะเป็นตอนสุดท้าย ติดตามอ่านกันให้ได้นะคะ
I must admit that the first 2 days in London was quite exhausting for me. But after getting used to walking around and studying the map it became much easier. Taking the tube is not as hard as I thought and there are big maps along the way which makes it very convenient. We had so much fun that I have rounded up the top ten places to visit in London for my next post.
